WHAT IS IBOGAINE?
Studies have shown that ibogaine treatment reduces craving for opiates, stimulants (like cocaine or methamphetamine) and even alcohol after a single dose. What is especially intriguing to scientists is the fact that this effect can last a long time (anywhere from ten days to a few months), allowing the person to experience a state of mind they may not have anticipated experiencing again. This by itself is a very valuable experience for someone who has given up hope of ever feeling normal again. Patients are encouraged to use this "window of opportunity" without cravings to work on the underlying issues that may have caused them to start using drugs in the first place.
This process of detoxification from opiates is accomplished in a period of days instead of weeks or months of pain and discomfort caused by slowly tapering off methadone or worse, quitting cold turkey. More importantly, this is achieved with a significant reduction of all the signs and symptoms associated with the Opiate Withdrawal Syndrome. Many patients who have experienced cold turkey or attempted a detox using other methods report a reduction of "80-90%" of all symptoms when undergoing ibogaine therapy. In cases where there is residual withdrawal our highly trained and experienced staff knows how to handle the remaining symptoms with complementary alternative medicine.
If you started taking methadone either for pain relief or as a substitute for heroin and now find yourself struggling with the long and intense withdrawal then ibogaine is the fastest, most effective, and humane way to get clean. Over the years we have seen patients who have been on very high dose Methadone Maintenance Therapy (MMT) for years or in some cases, decades and they have been able to detoxify with minimal symptoms over drastically shortened periods when compared to conventional detox treatments.
If you have ever tried to wean yourself off of opiates like heroin or pharmaceutical pain medications and relapsed because of the discomfort, pain or inability to function you can surely appreciate the enormous significance of this new treatment. In fact, it is well known that fear of pain and suffering caused by opiate withdrawal is the most common reason given for someone’s inability to stop using, it is also a contributing factor in many of the relapses that occur in the weeks or months after a patient has stopped using.
